dancing bodies

We make anatomy fun! Learn about the musculoskeletal system through movement and dance.

Students will learn about the basic structures and functions of the musculoskeletal system (including bones, joints, muscles, and tendons), develop greater body awareness through anatomy-driven improvisational exercises and movement activities designed to explore different body parts, their range of movement and possibilities of the body.

Through a series of fun and interactive exercises, students will learn through task-based improvisational activities and identify the muscle groups and joints involved in different movements.

During this 90-min session, we seek to combine scientific knowledge of the musculoskeletal system with the artistry of dance and movement, allowing students to explore and understand the body in a safe, creative and experiential way. Through movement and dance, students develop confidence and autonomy as they pick up self-directed learning skills — an essential 21st century competency.

Designed to support the learning needs of students in primary and secondary schools.
